2024: The Year of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski

The Suwałki Town Council has designated 2024 as the Year of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski.

This decision was taken to pay tribute to the outstanding artist of the Munich School on the 175th anniversary of his birth.

The City of Suwałki, the Regional Museum in Suwałki

and the Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski Foundation

have organised a series of cultural events aimed at raising awareness of the life and work of the painter, who was born in Suwałki in 1849.

We invite you to familiarise yourself with the programme of celebrations and to take an active part in the events organised at the Regional Museum in Suwałki.
