A portrait of Władysław Mickiewicz – the Poet’s son – painted by Czesław Wierusz-Kowalski.
As a Foundation, we have expanded our previously non-existent collection (the first step has been taken) to include a painting that is important to us and to Polish painting. It is a portrait of Władysław Mickiewicz – yes, the Poet’s son – painted by Czesław Wierusz-Kowalski. The portrait was painted in Paris in 1907, or perhaps 1908 – the date needs to be read carefully – so the artist was only just beginning his artistic career.
Roman Kaleta, Chairman of the Board, is delighted.
