Anna Święcicka arrived with her sons

That’s how this week began. Anna Święcicka arrived in Suwałki with her sons Aleksander and Michał. Their destination was, of course, the Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski Gallery. The family photograph of the descendants of Alfred and Czesław Wierusz-Kowalski also features people close to them. They all posed against the backdrop of the painter’s Self-Portrait and a sculpture in which he was immortalised by Alojzy Nawrat and Elżbieta Pietras. Anna is Alfred’s great-granddaughter, Czesław’s granddaughter and the daughter of Jadwiga, his first-born daughter from his marriage to Halina, née Wańkowicz.
