Panel discussion: ‘The Artist and the World’

On 25 September this year, the Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski Foundation organised a panel discussion entitled ‘The Artist and the World’. Nine guests took part in three thematic sessions: ‘Place of Birth: Opportunities / Limitations’; ‘The Periphery and the Centre’; and ‘Between Local and Global Communities’. They included art historians, literary scholars, a sociologist and a regionalist. They represented research communities in Białystok, Giessen in Germany, Lublin, Suwałki, Warsaw, Wrocław and Żołyń in the Podkarpacie region. The panel was made possible thanks to the financial support of the event’s partner, the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The discussion was attended by a group of people interested in the topic, including: members of the Society of Friends of the Suwałki Region, staff from the library of the Suwałki University of Applied Sciences, and staff from the Suwałki Regional Museum.
