"Together: The Shtetl on the Canvases of Munich Painters" at the Cytron Synagogue in Białystok.

Two paintings by Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski, *Resting Outside an Inn*, 1878, oil on panel, 30 x 60 cm, and *On a Reconnaissance Mission*, 1877, watercolour and gouache on paper, 23.7 x 21.7 cm, were featured in the exhibition ‘Together: The Shtetl on the Canvases of Munich Painters’ at the Cytron Synagogue in Białystok. Both works come from private collections – thank you for lending them to us – and both are on permanent display on loan at the Regional Museum in Suwałki.

Do visit Białystok. The exhibition is intimate, but in addition to the works by Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski, you will see several wonderful works by other Munich-based artists there. They are united by their Jewish heritage or their interest in Jewish themes.
