UNVEILING CEREMONY OF THE COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE AT THE DISTRICT MUSEUM IN SUWAŁKI – 14 NOVEMBER 2026

On 14 November 2026 at 12.00 at the District Museum in Suwałki a ceremony will be held to unveil a plaque commemorating the Wierusz-Kowalski family's donation of the legacy of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski, Czesław Wierusz-Kowalski and Joanna Wierusz-Kowalska-Turowska to the Museum's collections.

The event will be an opportunity not only to commemorate this important gesture by the Wierusz-Kowalski family, but also to meet with members, friends and supporters of the Foundation, as well as everyone interested in the life and work of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski and the history of his family.

PROGRAMME OF THE MEETING

In addition to the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, the programme of the ceremony includes short speeches, reminiscences and presentations devoted to Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski, his family, and the events and places associated with them.

Representatives of the Foundation will also share information about its activities to date and its plans for the near future.

The meeting will be an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, to make new contacts, and to reflect together on preserving and promoting the heritage of Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski.

AUCTION IN AID OF THE FOUNDATION

One of the planned items of the meeting will be an auction of objects connected with Alfred Wierusz-Kowalski and the Wierusz-Kowalski family.

Its aim will be to raise funds for the Foundation's activities, in particular for projects that commemorate and promote the artist's work and the history of his family.

We would like the auction to take place in a warm, relaxed atmosphere, combining shared enjoyment with the opportunity to support the Foundation's work.

Detailed information about the items intended for the auction, together with their descriptions, will be published on our website very soon.
